To 'see'
spirit in another
do not reach out
Spirit
comes forth to meet its likeness -
simply prepare the way and receive
- yes, it is that simple -
A hug
a handshake
a kiss
sexual union
all signs of what
the heart most seeks
Signs - of matter -
come and go
spirit - intangible - no
You - matter and spirit -
in meeting anyone
spirit meets you
You 'see' this
to the extent
you are ready to 'see' it
- it is already looking at you -
To experience the sole Subject
you play the game
of you and other
Of Christ, Scripture says -
'I stand at the door and knock' -
that said of him is said of you
You - not the 'not-you '-
is outside knocking on the door -
you, 'the you,' hears inside the door
Spirit does not enter unwelcome -
To open to the One disguised as other
is to welcome
yourself in your disguise
To open to anyone
is to invite in
the One
- yet, you find out
there is no inside and outside,
but first, you must know there is -
We are hosts
for one another -
through us, God says, "Hello"
